Question So in Japan is manga released weekly in small junks like shonen jump then collected into volumes-or are new manga released annually in volumes or both?

This is a great article-something most of us think about all the time. Tearing HS I see manga kicking American comics butt daily-but there is real interest in US comics but either the jumping in point is too deep to navigate or not enough of a new series to become obsessed with (like manga) Ideas?

2 students asked me today: “I want to do comics, but I don’t want to starve, can you make a living in comics?” My answer-yes. But you have to love it, you have to learn to draw EVERYTHING and write as well…and maybe be okay with a day job to supplement and for health insurance.
