a. Trump isn't announcing a pause on strikes. He's saying he's postponing a possible war crime - strikes on Iran's civilian energy infrastructure. b. Also, this isn't a message to Iran. It's a panicky message to the markets: "No war escalation until markets close on Friday".

India was supposed to be a huge new market for LNG (liquefied methane). Much of it from Qatar. We were told it would replace coal. Even before Hormuz sent their LNG prices soaring, India had done the math and is moving to solar, wind and storage. Replacing coal as they go, just not with LNG.

Senate Democrats proposed legislation this week to fund FEMA, TSA, and the Coast Guard. Senate Republicans blocked it. Absolutely shameful.

10/ All of this was totally foreseeable. Frankly, it’s why previous presidents weren’t so stupid to start a war like this. Trump has lost control of the war. His best course now is to cut his losses and end it. That’s the only way to prevent an even bigger disaster.

6/ If Trump paid any attention to the Ukraine War he would have noticed how warfare has changed. But he didn’t. And he blundered. Worse, the Gulf states are running out of interceptors to stop Iranian missiles and drones - meaning that soon more oil sites will be vulnerable.

5/ CRISIS TWO: We can destroy Iran’s missiles but not all their drones, and war today is drone war. Iran can hit oil sites in the region indefinitely because they posses so many cheap, weaponized drones. And they are. They blew up a critical Oman oil depot two days ago.

We have two political leaders willing to burn the world down because if they stop, they'll both be convicted of crimes and go to prison.🗽

3/ Second, they confirmed "regime change" is also NOT on the list. So, they are going to spend hundreds of billions of your taxpayer dollars, get a whole bunch of Americans killed, and a hardline regime - probably a MORE anti-American hardline regime - will still be in charge.

2/ Maybe the lead is that the war goals DO NOT involve destroying Iran's nuclear weapons program. This is, uh...surprising...since Trump says over and over this is a key goal. But then of course we already know air strikes can't wipe out their nuclear material.
