Any way you cut it, China pollutes far less than the US, unless you take the absurd proposition that a country with quadruple the population should somehow emit less than a vastly smaller country.

For context, per capita CO2 emissions in China (8.4 tons/person) are far below the US (14.3), and that's even just based on where commodities are produced rather than consumed. When you adjust for consumption, China consumes only 7.2 tons/person compared to 16.5 in the US!
