Tonight we stood together as Australians. To reject antisemitism. To remember the precious lives we lost one week ago. And to wrap our arms around the Jewish community who are grieving. This has been a dark week for Australia, but we will never let hate divide us.

Tonight at 6:47pm, one week on from the terrorist attack at Bondi, we will pause for a minute’s silence and light a candle to remember the victims.

Tomorrow’s Day of Reflection is a moment for Australia to stand with our Jewish community.

Our hearts are with the families mourning after the Bondi terror attack. The Australian community stands with Jewish Australians at this dark time. Today at Parliament House I signed the condolence book to honour the victims and those who loved them.

Doctors. Nurses. Surgeons. Radiologists. Pathologists. And so many more. We’ve seen humanity at its very best, as you've worked tirelessly to save lives. We can't thank you enough.

In moments like this, we must come together. Australia stands united against hatred and terror.

Today I convened National Cabinet to respond to the act of terror and antisemitism in Bondi last night. We stand with Jewish Australians and we stand against hatred and violence. Australia is stronger than those who try to divide us and we will come through this together.

The dedication and commitment of police officers was on full display last night, when off-duty officers turned up to Bondi to help. They are the best of Australia.

Yesterday was a dark day in our nation's history. But we are stronger than the cowards who did this. We refuse to let them divide us. Australia will never submit to division, violence or hatred - and we will come through this together.

When our region prospers, Australia prospers. Australia and Papua New Guinea are the closest of neighbours and true friends. Together we’ll grasp the opportunities of our shared future. 🇦🇺🇵🇬

Australia doesn't have to choose between a stronger economy and a healthier environment. Our Government is delivering both.
