Huge finding from the. @polybiorf.bsky.social & UCSF team! #LongCovid patients have abnormally low levels of Natural Killer cells- the immune cells responsible for clearing virally infected cells. This finding is consistent with the growing evidence for viral persistence as a cause of LC. 1/

it's fairly easy to acknowledge that polio is a terrible disease now because it hasn't been a real threat for decades. Polio only appears in period films.
