Israel debates a death penalty bill for Palestinian prisoners, but as Abdel Nasser Ferwana shows, executions have been routine for decades. The bill would simply formalize what already exists: an old policy of killing prisoners outside any legal framework

‘Aboud is a West Bank village that has been sealed off in all four directions by Israeli settlements, gates, and outposts, turning daily life into a struggle for movement, land, and survival. As Uday al-Barghouthi writes, this is displacement by design.

Gaza saw its first major rainfall of the season today. Within minutes, people were submerged and tents holding families and children flooded. This is slow death. There is no justification for why proper shelter that can withstand the elements is not being allowed in.
