Title is of course a riff on this comic. It's Utrecht, where they converted a canal into a highway, realized highways suck and kill cities by pumping cars into them, then converted it back to a canal and bikeway.

"Remote working is in place already" almost everyone I know is being forced back into the office multiple days a week. The government love to half ass a piece of toothless legislation and then say "well what else could we possibly do". Do the government know they're in charge of the country?

These information campaigns are so infuriating. "Have you thought about spending €14k on solar panels? What about insulating your house to a higher standard?" Instead of subsidising these things everyone already knows work, our government pays €€ for ads to condescend to us.

Why do surveys show strong public support for cycle paths, but Facebookers call it “fake news”?
-- "Leadership means pushing past the noise — and over the Hill of Hysteria," says a leading mobility academic. The National Transport Authority has just published the latest findings of its Walking and Cycling Index for 2025 research which led The Irish Times to report that "the vast majority of residents across the State’s five main cities want increased investment in cycling infrastructure, even when that results in less road space for cars." That and other news reports have led many on social media to cry foul!

Several years on, the results suggest it has delivered broad benefits on safety, public health, travel efficiency, and quality of life.🧵
