I cycle both rurally and in Dublin city centre. This is how I'm usually kitted out - out of fear for my life. I'd feel a lot safer if I knew the government were planning on building proper, segregated cycle lanes, than if this gear was made mandatory. A mandate on this would solve nothing. 🚴

Today we sadly commemorate the Kingston Road bus shelter in Galway, cruelly taken from us by #StormEowyn. The tempest passed in hours; one year later the City Council & National Transport Authority still struggle to cope with the trauma. We stand in the rain, bow our heads and pray for deliverance.
