I was driving so I couldn't get a photo, but I've just passed a huge billboard on the A6 advertising a holiday company, which is a close-up on two people reading paperbacks (presumably on their holiday) - and one of them is Hits Different π

The Greenhouse, Manchester's one-man vegetarian/vegan restaurant run out of someone's front room. 50-odd dishes on the menu all made from scratch, plus specials. A meal took three hours and he could only manage about 5-6 covers per night but my word it was delicious.

Just listened to a podcast advert which said "on your favourite podcast platform" instead of "wherever you get your podcasts" and I know what the words mean but it feels deeply wrong to change the slogan of podcasts like that

I frequently skirt right up to the edge of burnout. I work 13-hour shifts with a big social life the rest of the week, and almost never have any actual free time. But right now I'm in a too-hot bath with a tea called Duvet Day, a delicious flapjack, and a "caramel latte" scented candle on the go π

One of my favourite things to read is Ella's Substack. It's about everything and it's about nothing, sometimes it's about food and sometimes her life, and those things cross over and weave and delight. It's beautiful and it's in my inbox and it should be in yours.
