excited to hear tech companies will now be allowed to build their own power plants for their data centers. i am sure the makers of "the app that tells kids to kill themselves" will responsibly operate coal plants

Rewatched GoldenEye for the first time in many years last night. It's no wonder I turned out how I did, when I was watching a Russian woman strangle a man to death with her thighs mid-coitus at ten years old.

I bought The Marigold by
@afsulli.bsky.social
a few years ago and finally read it last week (isn't that how things go?) and it was fantastic. Sentient fungus is scary, sure, but far more frightening is the thought of living in a cheap new build condo.

I have had a copy of Gravity's Rainbow for twenty years. In 2022 I got about 180 pages in and gave up. I'm 200 pages in now and it's fucking my shit up. I will persevere because I can feel my brain expanding in real time.

if your only interaction with scrolling algorithmic video is watching 6 minutes of Reels on the toilet first thing in the morning you can derive signs & portents about pop culture without being directly exposed to its madness like ancient priests watching the reflection of the sunrise through gauze

Just finished Unto the Godless What Little Remains by
@mariocoelho.bsky.social
and aside from a banger of a title, the story itself is sharp, sad, and full of foreboding about the present and the future. Highly recommend. I devoured it like a rogue AI starved for meaning.

Hoping to finish the first novel Iβve ever written next week. Only five chapters left to revise. I donβt know if Iβll have any luck querying, and at this point I donβt care. The damn thing took me 15 years and I already canβt wait to start on the next one.
