Trekkies love to complain about Star Trek—it's a time honored tradition—but man oh man. Be it meddling network notes or a writer's room with a goofy vision, it feels like lost potential.

Overall I've been very disappointed with the writing for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. I love the playfulness, but it's often underbaked. I love the representation, but characters feel two-dimensional. Interpersonal relationships written like messy early 20 situationships. What's going on?
