I just learned that a PhD student at Hopkins, Ethan Neumann, died of the type of cancer that he had been studying for his PhD. He was in the program I would have been in if I hadn’t gone into Penn. It’s tragic to hear of a fellow patient-scientist passing away. I admire his bravery on his journey.

I got home at 10pm last night after one of the craziest weeks of my life: five flights in seven days, including two cross-country flights (one at 6:30am), and within 48 hours I boarded 3 flights in 3 different states! It was HARD but it was absolutely incredible and I am thankful for every moment!

It's become clear that this administration is just a protracted war on anybody who's read a book without pictures in it. It's a miracle we're all still getting up and going to work every morning. The psychological drain is the point, and I'm increasingly grateful to the people who are still decent.

it is so disheartening that a pseudoscience, anti-vax scammer is giving the keynote address of the NORD rare disease scientific symposium. tell me one thing that VP has done for rare diseases. he has shared harmful beliefs on the covid vaccine that actively harm many of the rare disease community.
