I'm in the camp that bringing back Palpatine was kinda always a given. Regardless of how clumsy his storyline was in TROS, I'll give J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio a lot of props for giving him really great lines. Ian McDiarmid is ALWAYS a delight, even in the bad ones. This line is my favorite.
