The Rise of Skywalker is leagues better and actually good, even with weak spots bc it gave a cathartic finale for the sequel trilogy (& left so much open for new stories beyond). Duel of the Fates would’ve just angered everyone (angered Reylos by ruining the dyad, and making the ST finale messier).

I’ll defend this man’s Jurassic World movies (yes, all of them) to the death, but Duel just wasn’t very good and I’m glad we got Rise instead. I’m open to him coming back to make a standalone Star Wars movie or show, but he just was not the man to close off this story.

Colin Trevorrow's Fuel of the Fates would not have been better than Caravan of Courage. It would not have been better than that one book where Luke fell in love with a spaceship. It *may* have been better than that one issue of Vader where Sal Larocca drew Doctor Apra eating noodles.

I don't wanna hear shit about mystery boxes and shit if you can't admit even a little bit that J.J. Abrams is skilled behind the camera, I can't take you seriously. I'm still in the belief that no matter who directed IX it would've suffered due to circumstances beyond filmmakers' control.

I try to be a Colin apologist but the script isn't good. The characters don't act like themselves, there's no weight, the ending is dumb, and the dialogue is bad. Had it been made, the reviews would've been worse on the virtue that J.J. Abrams is an objectively better director than Colin Trevorrow.

I cannot agree enough. It’s draining to the point of mental exhaustion when the things you go to to escape the real world are over run by “fans” who exist in a perpetual state of outrage by things that should be escapism from the real world. This year more than most I certainly have needed it.
