Broadly speaking, everything the owners have proposed is ripped from the leagues with house unions. Caps, individual maxes, limits on contract lengths, not drafting high schoolers, hard draft slots…it’s all NBA/NFL stuff. These aren’t proposals to be negotiated over, they’re terms of surrender.

My first question to the AAA guys when I was reporting my ABS test story was: who is allowed to challenge? They hadn't thought about it that much, but we're all certain that if they made the show, they were not gonna be the ones to blow their team's challenges...
