My earnest advice to white guys with degrees who are struggling to make it in academia or journalism is that instead of blaming Black people you should consider pivoting to the public sector.

I dont fully understand non-profit affordable housers' gripe with developers building low cost units during a lull in market-rate construction... also interesting to see a Peskin endorsed BOS candidate end up at a East Bay non-profit houser

No matter how you slice it, US police officers are safer on the job and paid waaaaay more than other countries' police despite doing a…less than stellar job The question isn't more police vs. less police. It's why are US police paid so much while doing such little and such poor police work?

Glad to see the interim S.F. police chief acknowledge how “incredible” it is for SFPD to be “short staffed” yet crime drops dramatically. Almost as if there’s more to crime prevention than larger PD budgets

Caltrans' messaging of its bike/ped work continues to border on mendacious. This *Caltrans* press release says that they are spending $97M on a pedestrian overcrossing in SF. That would be an insane price! But in reality, the $97M is for a ped over-xing *and* 7.5 miles of I-280 pavement rehab!

Rare new construction condos listed for sale in Oakland. I wonder what led the developer to list as condos instead of rentals… My guess is that the risk from condo defect laws was outweighed by low rental prices.
