Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) is just a policy on taking shortcuts. It can be useful for quick-and-dirty decisions in the absence of the time, resources and expertise needed for a rigorous scientific process. Unfortunately, it has been warped into an excuse to hold authority without key expertise.

An important read for anyone in Canada with #longCOVID. As a scientist with relevant expertise I have attempted to engage with this process several times, directly and through the public comment system. The lack of interest in input from outside the EBM bubble reported here was also my experience.

as mentioned before, I will inform Albertans of acute care COVID outbreaks, which are no longer being publicly reported. up 50% from my last report 6 d ago. Now 6 outbreaks, 2 at the Mis (up 1), ongoing outbreaks at the Rockyview, Royal Alex, and Leduc, and additional unit reported at the Sturgeon.

We need laws - backed with jail time and major, percentage-of-wealth fines - that forbid misrepresenting software as human, and the use of such "doppelgangers" to manipulate politics and human behaviour. I get that the people who dropped the ball on COVID love the idea of it being endemic, so they can pretend it's inevitable and nothing is their fault, but there was no "pandemic exit". No amount of magical thinking will change that. Clean the air, hand out N95s, replace IPC, and yes, vaccinate.
