Marx was pretty clear that clinging to existing forms of labor as sacred was reactionary. The point was never to preserve jobs; it was to seize the means by which jobs become unnecessary.

My hottest parenting take is that Raffi is not only the great to ever do it, but he’ll probably never be bested. Michael Phelps-ass children’s songwriter.

There should be a Star Trek movie every two years and they should have indie film budgets and no explosions and almost everyone should hate them.

São Paulo banned basically all outdoor advertising 20 years ago and it remains to me one of the largest object demonstrations of how wasteful, empty, and stupid capitalist society is. We deleted an entire industry from the city and *it simply made everything unambiguously better.*

Watching a series of former Confederate states rush to eliminate any vestige of black representation in the House pretty much answers the question whether the Voting Rights Act was still necessary.

Like, I get the idea that AI *can* be liberatory, but let's not sleepwalk into assuming it WILL be. History says otherwise. Capability is not politics. A technology being able to liberate people does not mean it arrives socially configured to do that.

nostalgia poisoning is not a sickness inherent to millennials - it's just where we're at right now. we're living in a fascist, hyper-capitalist reality that has tamped down on art across the board. generational labels are fun to talk about at times but mostly come down to being astrology to me.

its easy to make mixtape a game over a movie because video game stories still get the 'wow it's good for a video game' buff for stories

Again this should inspire wall-to-wall media coverage for months. The crowning achievement of the Civil Rights Movement is dead. Black people just lost all of their remaining political power in the South. This is a monumental moment in American history that simply isn't being treated as such.
