If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features." There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Ive been going down a big trad roguelike rabbithole recently. Its got a really vibrant community of folk trying out all kinds of wierd ideas. I've not tried the system here, but it shows how open the field is and how many different ways you can get into it.

Please please please Sound Designers.. DO NOT bake reverb into your sfx packs.. You might be proud of your convolution or springs or w/e but it makes the sample unusuable in 99% of situations...

I kind of love this.. There was a time when I was working in early web dev and i was so proud of my ability to mosaic all the different software windows I used into efficient layouts.

Aura brings up a great point here. When I killed the blacksmith in ds 1 by accident, the entire tone of the game changed for me, it made me feel even less like a hero and gave the world had even more melancholic uncaring autonomy. I liked the shift (even though I think I had to start again)

I agree with Tomas here, and before people rush in to point out games that counter the argument.. yes ofc there are counter-examples, there is more generalised concern being voiced here and i think its one worth paying attention to

Ive also been implementing shops, And I think i've ended up doing it the same way skyrim does? Each shop is a chest of goods that exists under the same tile as the NPC shopkeeper. Its jsut that you can only access it via a dialogue with them.

Ive been working on a prototype for a potential new game over the last few months. Its quite sim/systems based. You can pick berries from bushes, but food decays over time. so i stopped berries form decaying when on the bush still. But this meant you could use bushes as refridgerators..
