ICE are terrorists. Telling a sitting US senator that they don’t want to escalate, sending him out to tell protestors he will personally check cars to make sure detainees are being transferred, and then gassing the protestors is diabolical, fascist shit.

Sen. @kim.senate.gov tried to de-escalate the stand off between DHS agents and protesters in front of Delaney Hall. They promised that the windows of the cars will be down, if protesters stopped blocking. BUT DHS LIES! Now family members don't know if their loved ones are being transferred.

I just visited Delaney Hall with my colleagues @repnellie.bsky.social and @kim.senate.gov, and it’s crystal clear to me there’s only one option now. CLOSE DELANEY HALL, NOW. The conditions here are absolutely unacceptable. These detention centers have no place anywhere in our state or our country.

They did this despite the fact that Martin Soto has a no transfer order.

We've updated this story to reflect that ICE has transferred the hunger strike organizer Martin Soto out of Delaney Hall. It's unclear how ICE was able to make the transfer in spite of the court order. Menendez and other members of Congress are still trying to make contact with him.
