When people talk about The Last Jedi, they either hate Canto Bight or forget all about it. And I maintain it is not only good, it's the most important part of the film, adding depth and shades of gray to the galaxy, while showing us that the rich are, as always, the worst.

Let me set something straight about Star Wars: The sequel trilogy was not a failure. The TV shows are not a failure. The theme park is not a failure. 99% of Star Wars under Disney HAVE NOT FAILED. The only thing that HAS failed so far is a fucking HOTEL.

yeah, it's wild - never caught it as a kid bc i was watching on a tiny tv in fullscreen but the Goblin King Sarah imagines is a pastiche of a Bowie-esque "real" matinee idol she is obsessed with, who her mom apparently fucked. In the last scene she is in the middle of taking down his clippings.

What I love about the Acolyte is the intentional decision to include a Zygerrian jedi. The Audience was introduced to the species as enslavers. Having Tasi Lowa be a jedi forces us to consider she can be different because she was not raised in that society.

Happy birthday to Angela Morley! Morley was the 1st openly transgender 🏳️‍⚧️ person to be nominated for an Oscar and served as an additional orchestrator for Star Wars & The Empire Strikes Back. Morley is especially known for orchestrating the trench run scenes.

It’s fascinating looking at how the style of stunt choreography has evolved in the Star Wars franchise, going from influenced by old-school swashbucklers in the first film to full on wuxia fights in the Acolyte. Someone with more patience for the original trilogy than me should break it down.

This Han-Ben interaction is great and clarifies an aspect of TFA that many viewers misunderstood - Kylo didn't kill Han because he hated him, but because he loved him. He desperately wanted to believe that he'd find peace and strength by destroying what he loved. Instead, that choice haunted him.
