It's all about how the committee ranks Iowa in relation to its seed. If Iowa is the top 8 seed, it will go to the closest location with a 1 seed to Carver. Conversely, if Iowa is ranked as the last 8 seed, then it would likely be in San Diego since it's further to IC than Greenville or Tampa is.

Unless Iowa is playing on Sunday, I don't see the Hawkeyes going higher than an 8 seed.

Nevertheless, Hawkeye fans can breathe a little easier now. This team is safely in the field and will be playing at least one meaningful basketball game next Thursday or Friday.

My hunch is Iowa stays in the 8/9 seed range and gets stuck with a 1. Likely destinations would be Greenville (Duke), San Diego (Arizona), or Tampa (Florida).
