Lindy Ruff said Alexandar Georgiev will go 40 minutes tonight and Devon Levi will get the final 20 minutes. He added that Levi will close out tomorrow night's game as well getting the final period. Ruff said he wants every goalie to get about 40 minutes of action in preseason.

Some notes I scribbled during the game, coaches made sure power plays got to happen. Without Tuch, the Blue team used Zach Benson and Ryan McLeod in his spot on the bumper. Zucker in front with Thompson and Norris on the wings and Dahlin up top.

Ruff said it put a smile on his face to see the White team frustrate the Blue team throughout the scrimmage. It's what he wanted to see and he got it. White team with a 4-0 win and done so handily.

Lindy Ruff said they're hopeful Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen will be able to return to practice this week. Ruff said he's progressing well. As for Tuch, Ruff said he probably won't play Monday and could play Tuesday but they'd like him to skate more. He looked very good at practice, however

Conor Timmins, a former Maple Leaf and guy who grew up coming to Sabres (and Leafs games) when asked if he hates the Leafs now, smiles, says "No comment." We have fun here, ya know?

The Sabres will scrimmage tomorrow morning - it'll be two 20-minute periods. Lindy Ruff said he wants to get a look at what they're trying to incorporate and how it looks defensively. Said the players all tested very well from offseason workouts and the scrimmage will show where they're at

Asked Dahlin if there's any satisfaction in being recognized in the Norris vote for his play (he finished sixth): “Honestly, I don’t really care that much. I just want to win with the Sabres and if you do that, good things will happen to you personally, too."

Dahlin says he's in a good place. Teammates have been really supportive. He says he's so proud of how hard Carolina works every day to get better after what happened.

Just to keep you all posted, we will talk to Dahlin but it'll be almost exclusively hockey-focused and that's pretty understandable why, it's a very tough situation

Alex Tuch said he's leaving contract talks in the hands of his agents, the Bartletts. The more or less hands-off approach means talks in-season don't affect him. He's locked in on what he can do on the ice. As for the issue that has him off ice to start, he expects to be back on-ice in a couple days

For what it’s worth, Tuch and Greenway were doing rehab skates this morning when we arrived for the press conferences. You can’t glean much from the skates but given the news on both of them, it’s good to see.

Lindy Ruff says the captaincies will remain the same. Interesting to note that Mason Geertsen got a shoutout. Ruff coached him in New Jersey.

Adams on Luukkonen, says as he ramped up workouts he started to feel some pain. They did imaging and that came up clean so now they’ll figure things out from there. They signed Georgiev to protect themselves.
