If police are permitted to roll stop signs when it's safe to do so, they shouldn't be ticketing cyclists doing the same in High Park on the MGT or anywhere... Video taken on Monday.

FICTION:
@petermeiszner.bsky.social
claimed the Vision Zero plan would lower the speed on "streets like Boundary Rd, Clark, Knight St." FACT: The report clearly references streets with "high pedestrian activity" and "busy shopping streets." Did Peter even read the report before gutting it?

Love that bus lanes are going in at Seymour in light of Granville being pedestrianized, but maybe we also need bus priority for the off-ramps as well?

Again, Vision Zero isn't something special that's only being implemented in Vancouver. I wish our councillors would do basic research about the benefits of Vision Zero plans for car drivers, before asking these non-sensical questions.

This is what a car-brained councillor will do: Pit vulnerable road users against drivers. Don't be fooled by what councillors are "trying" to tell you with their campaigning and messaging about reaching Vision Zero ā see what their mind really speaks during City Council sessions.

I don't want to be cynical, I really want to see these barriers installed. But I'm not sure this motion actually moves us closer. The lack of accountability is jarring (the audacity of Dominato to blame staff for a situation she helped orchestrate!) These should have been in place already.

Our transit funding model is broken. Either funding party can unilaterally deny transit expansion. And of course, the Province decided to actively veto every BCT expansion requested this year, including for exact election promises like Sea to Sky.
