Heartbreaking news today from the Qayqayt First Nation. Condolences to her family from all of #NewWest. Rhonda was a strong leader and a fierce advocate who touched 1000s of lives, but her family was her greatest joy, and I hope they can take comfort in memories of that love at this difficult time.

Was walking with a group of 9 year olds today, and one asked how old I was. I told them, to wide eyes, I am *so old* that I was alive when people walked on the moon. Godspeed Artemis 2.

Really proud of this work led by Councillors Nakagawa and Henderson. #NewWest continues to lead in protecting renters, in this case we may be saving lives when the next Heat Dome arrives.

Hey #NewWest. I love this City for the same reasons you do: we take action & act with compassion, work together to lift one another. I'm proud of the region-leading work we've done on Housing, road safety, infrastructure, inclusion, & more. We we have more work to do. Let's keep moving forward.

A global legend, and a legend here at Simon Fraser University where I met her. Larger than life, and a life lived lived large in service to the voiceless, she changed what we know about one of our closest primate cousins, and our own history. Rest in power, Biruté!

We really need a streetmix.net but for intersections. As much as I love playing with width and reallocation of rights of way, dreaming of better public spaces, in an urban area it’s the intersections that make streets safe or comfortable, and that’s where the much harder work is.

We don't take road deaths seriously, not even parking lot deaths. Multiple layers of negligence happened here, and the result is a dead person and $1,150 in fines to a traumatized person. Nothing coming out of this will make roads safer. Nothing.

Ugh. This is gutting. Record Ridge is a place I hold as almost sacred. Acknowledging this area was built and developed by mining a century ago, I grew up recreating among those abandoned rail grades and mine workings. This place is in my heart - entered through my lungs. Long Live Seven Summits.

Merlin hits the point here. You may think what you see in your community is unique. Its not. Purposeful polarization & disinformation are impacting local gov'ts everywhere. Ideas fattened up on social media being served in Council Chambers & School Boards to the detriment of good decision making.
