I worked Monday night bingo starting in 6th grade. I wore the same thing every week: royal blue Bugle Boy pants and my Ryne Sandberg t shirt.

My friend just told me that when her dad, who is a huge Cubs fan, was in the hospital for heart surgery, she wanted to buy him a Ryne Sandberg “get well soon” Cameo but couldn't afford it. She contacted him and Sandberg sent her dad a message and a selfie for free.

Sadly, Ryne Sandberg has passed. He was a hero to heroes. I absolute loved him. Peace to all who mourn his loss. God rest his soul.
