Something I don’t see talked about are the number of Black men on social media using their platform to educate, show vulnerability, and show how to step up in relationships. It’s one thing to use media to break the stereotypes, but real people are role models and heroes. 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

I worked a streaming event this week and someone kept making vague sexualized comments, pushing the boundaries each time. Finally, the mods timed him out for 10 minutes. He came back crying about how unfair that was, but no one cared or paid attention and he stopped. This is how you handle trolls.

Spent my entire lunch break scrolling social media and don’t regret it one bit. There’s zero chance the millions of people who came out today all have the same values and beliefs in everything. But none of that mattered because they were able to unite in what is important.

I don’t always watch movies on planes, but when I do, I always manage to pick the ones that make me cry. So glad I finally saw Bob Trevino Likes It. The festival awards are so well deserved, it’s cathartic in a way indies should be. Hope more people watch and give it the recognition it deserves.

I struggle with decision fatigue, so unless I have a reason to veto a suggestion, I usually respond with “sure, that’s fine” so I don’t have to think about it anymore. But lately I’ve been told people interpret it as “oh no, she hates the idea. And probably me.” Is that a universal response?

Feels very appropriate that I finished my latest draft of my PlayStation feature in Japan. Although, thanks to the weirdness of Final Draft’s iPad app, I still have to wait until I get home to send it out to readers. Still, pretty happy to crack the trouble scenes while here.

On a train in Japan, the woman next to me, who knew very little English, asked me where I was going and where I was from. She then excitedly shared photos from the city we were heading to before getting off at the next stop. These are the beautiful interactions we should be having with strangers.

I’m really bad at asking for money. In high school, I got a C in yearbook, despite putting together 75% of it, because I couldn’t sell enough ads. But I’m really passionate about what we’re doing at Lowkey Moxie and would love to be able to take off running in 2026. Please help us make that happen.

Yesterday, we almost missed our walking tour because our bus got slowed as it respectfully followed a small protest. Hearing them chant “stop genocide, free Palestine” with their strong Japanese accents made me want to cancel my plans and join them.

Halfway through my Japan trip. It’s been a more touristy trip than I usually do, but a beautiful thing has been being surrounded by so many cultures. I got to say thank you in 4 languages the other day. The world is a mess, but for the moment, I’m going to enjoy sharing space with others unlike me.

I love hotels. Especially in today’s charged climate, I’m hyper sensitive to micro interactions, especially on elevators. Every ride this week has been a beautiful moment of connection, from a basic have a nice day, to compliments, to the man revealing his childlike excitement for the water park.

Any friends sake connoisseurs? I’m going to Japan next week and taking a day trip to Himeji and Kobe. There are a couple places I want to check out that have over 400 varieties of sake and need help understanding them all so I know what I should try.

I’m honestly really impressed with 2025 for simultaneously feeling like it’s flown by and like it’s been three long years. And it’s not even over.

Super excited about some upcoming meetings around town to discuss Lowkey Moxie and the future of TV. No one will argue that the industry is changing, it’s so exciting to be at the forefront of it all, especially as we work hard to keep what makes TV special while embracing today’s culture.

My non-industry friend is in Toronto this weekend, and when I told her TIFF was happening, she bought a ticket to Youngblood and had a most magical day making friends. I love this more than any industry success story. Maybe because she’s my friend. And maybe because it symbolizes why we do this.

Exploring layers of your neurodiversity as an adult is a WILD ride. Realizing how many times you felt off was a result of a neurospicy mind. Grief in the trauma you experienced over aspects of you out of your control. Reconciling with bullies who realize they acted out because their struggles.

LA has so many amazing museums I haven’t visited, so I’m trying to go to one a month. This month I had some belated birthday celebrations with friends and went to the Hammer Museum. Every exhibit was amazing and I highly recommend it, but especially before the Noah Davis exhibit leaves on the 31st!
