I don't know how many of you are familiar w/ the Too Good to Go app, which allows you to find restaurants & stores in your area that are selling surprise bags of surplus food at discounted prices, but they now also have discounted foods for delivery! (Like, shipped, not like Postmates.) It's great.

Holidays are often hard for me, for reasons buried in my subconscious that surface only enough to make me anxious. I realized yesterday I don’t have any of those feelings this year, and I’m sure it’s in part because I have something to look forward to. And that’s indeed a reason to be thankful.

On a train in Japan, the woman next to me, who knew very little English, asked me where I was going and where I was from. She then excitedly shared photos from the city we were heading to before getting off at the next stop. These are the beautiful interactions we should be having with strangers.

Yesterday, we almost missed our walking tour because our bus got slowed as it respectfully followed a small protest. Hearing them chant “stop genocide, free Palestine” with their strong Japanese accents made me want to cancel my plans and join them.
