One thousand times this. There’s a tidal wave of online extremism on the horizon in most countries and, much as kids need protection online, it’s not them.

A 77% increase in immigration raids, 83% increase in arrests, coupled with undermining modern slavery protections and a call to remove basic ECHR rights from migrants. If you think what is happening with ICE in the US can't happen here I have a bridge to sell you. 1/

I hope there is at least one MP with the courage to ask the government to justify the frankly bizarre contracts being awarded to Palantir by HMG in health, justice and defence. The NAO and Parliament need to get involved.

Starmer needs to ditch McSweeney and craft a narrative for his government that appeals to Labour’s actual potential coalition - liberal, educated, urban, Remain-coded - as opposed to chasing working class voters with Diet Reform stylings.

1030am Sunday: the BBC is still mainly just notifcing "starkly varying accounts" and offering a "recap" which is all "key lines" and always prioritising what people say happened, over what they could now report actually happened to scrutinise the starkly varying accounts

Genuinely think this coverage is worthy of formal complaint – and if the BBC doesn’t take it seriously, it should be escalated to Ofcom. The appearance of caving to the Trump White House, when the BBC is being sued, could be disastrous for public trust.

Solidarity, particularly across race and class, is Kryptonite for authoritarian regimes. They can only thrive when their us v. them framing is adopted by society at large, and they join as active or passive collaborators with the regime. So the only response they have is to raise the cost of unity

Alex Jeffrey Pretti was an ICU nurse at a VA hospital. His life, through his profession, was dedicated to serving his community and our country. As so many have now seen on video, his final act before he was killed by federal agents was doing everything in his power to protect his community.

To unpack that, banning u16s from social media rather than taking action on Grok is, effectively, saying an engine that creates Nazi propaganda and CSAM content is a legitimate part of adult society that children should be protected from. But everyone should surely be protected from Grok?
