I can't in all honesty believe any Trump supporter who says they now regret their vote. And not because I think they're lying but because their regret is not worth much. Their regret about Trump is temporary, their support for him is permanent.

It is very important to understand: Trump is in no way special. Some of our conservative relatives are capable of being the same kind of horrifying bully if only they had power. But they don't, so they end up being that annoying person you typically see at Thanksgiving dinner.

I think I have an explanation. A lot of the tech they are promoting is not truly useful tech but something more akin to tech religion. Blockchain and crypto are tokens of anti-establishment ideology. You need to believe in crypto. You need to believe in blockchain. It's all anti-science.

The thing I hate about posts like these is understanding how right they are and also how none of the people who need to read it and understand it actually will.
