Lots of problems with multi year funding mechanism. Far fewer grants can be funded and they can only be funded for 4, not 5 years even though most grants funded by the normal mechanism are 5 years. It’s a back door way for Russell Vought to choke off science funding

All US scientists need to understand the horrible effect of this new policy: many fewer grants funded until the system normalizes (several years). How many labs will close in the meantime? Likely many.

Hell yeah, keep the pressure on. If you live in one of these states, call your Senators, thank them, and remind them that there are related issues where their states and the nation needs their support and willingness to stand up.

Turns out our *literal* rocket scientists have lots of options other than "stay here and get treated like shit"... But losing large numbers of our top top space and rocket scientists overseas could never hurt us, right? I'm sure starlink will take care of everything...
