literally my entire city flooded yesterday and today the power went out in the entire north end today but sure, yeah, let's build a massive AI datacentre outside of the city, I'm sure that won't make things worse at all

I think it’s important to keep talking about children and social media, but I also think that debate is a cover for what these laws are really about: surveilling the entire population online

Kids and teenagers will find ways to byass the social media ban the UK gov is putting into force today. When you make something forbidden it makes it more appealing to people. The answer is more restrictions on platforms & education, but of course these require governments to be tough on platforms->

love thinking about how our country is investing a bajillion dollars into AI to poison our communities and skyrocket our electricity bills so that losers can have emails written for them instead of something actually useful, like cross-country high-speed rail

My writing group has released our first collaborative chapbook with Gridlock Lit! It’s all about what it’s like being queer on the Prairies. We each wrote a poem for the collection called “My Queer” and “My Bad Queer,” and then wrote a poem together called “Our Queer.” You can order a copy online!

being disabled is fucking annoying because you'll plan to get a bunch of shit done on a day off, you'll get like 2 things on your list done and you'll have to call it because you're fucking fried and now you need to lay down.

I wrote a pantoum about Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein and familial estrangement due to my queerness. I love the film so much that I've watched it 3 times since it came out, and according to GDT, that means I'm married to it. Delighted to have my poem featured in

I think the thing that a lot of people aren't getting yet is that your status as a human being is revocable. It's not a crime to do these things, it's not morally reprehensible if they don't see you as a person.

The craziest thing about being in a tiny minority that still masks is that I've gotten sick literally 2-3 times in the last ~6 years and every flu season/COVID spike/Norovirus wave I just watch people willingly get sick repeatedly because they don't want to mask. It works, idk what to tell y'all.

If anyone were to ask me what inconsequential conspiracy theory I have, it's that I think in the factories where they box the christmas mandarin oranges, it's some guy's job to put a single, slightly spoiled orange into every box so that they all go bad more quickly.
