Disability & food policy, preferably with data. she/her. none of this nonsense, please!
Look, I am realistic enough to know my hair can’t pull off any version of Ilya/Connor, but unfortunately I don’t think there is a distinctive enough version of Shane/Hudson hair to shoot for instead.

while us non-sports people are still discussing hockey--- i was truly genuinely shocked several years ago when i saw the logo/mascot of the chicago blackhawks. i absolutely, 100% expected it to be a black bird.

Re: RFKjr talking about the "war on protein": Yes, but no, but yes, but also no. Lots of people are making the very accurate observation that there has never been a "war on protein", and yes, I thoroughly agree, particularly from a NUTRITION SCIENCE perspective.

'Heated Rivalry' Handles Autism With Love, Care, And A Touch Of Awkwardness
The runaway hit hockey romance gives us a different kind of autistic character, one created by an author and an actor with their own personal investment.

I absolutely recommend AFAB people educate themselves on menopause *early*, because society/medicine does not do enough to notice what's going on and give people real options.

Every mob that has ever run a trans woman off of socials has had a "valid reason" why they deserved it. But it's still systemic and endemic.

there are a handful of very gifted fanfic authors that are no longer active (or nearly so), and if they just have other hobbies, GOOD FOR THEM, but if they are now published authors I hope I find my way to their books anyway!

I wish it was possible to explain to people that there are actual human beings being “larger accounts” or however we want to frame it, and those people are just as real as they are. They’re not characters, they’re not created for you to consume. They’re *people*.

I *highly* recommend that you avoid reviewing the primary source materials from the Epstien files. As an average joe, you personally do not* need to know the specific details of what went down. Professionals with training and experience and mental health counseling are already going thru em.

The cognitive & emotional toll from staying in contact with abusive family can be both significant and difficult to recognize. There's a kind of social contract that abusive parents have violated. You owe them nothing. Nothing. Christmas–or any other holiday–doesn't change that.

“it’s reasonable to ask questions about trans girls in sports” was always intended to mainstream transphobia. It’s absurd that people fell for it. Democrats are constantly letting oppressors set the terms of debate instead of just saying “no, fuck you.”

the only way I think “extra time on tests” gets misused is as a way to “accommodate” students who would actually benefit from a completely different set of accommodations the university is unwilling to provide. so they can say “there, you’re accommodated, stop complaining.”

The Brown campus isn't a closed campus, it's fairly integrated into the East Side of Providence. Not to mention how many people Brown employs, how many unrelated businesses are in the area, how many schools there are in walking distance, etc. It's going to hit a LOT of people very hard.

Okay, hear me out: if you look at an upscale cheese section, one of the expensive add-ons they'll sell you is a date-nut cake, that is essentially just dates and nuts pressed together, and it's very expensive. What about, instead, Lara bars? Which are mostly pressed dates and nuts?

For what it’s worth, I rarely used all, or even most, of my extended time in college. Most of the time, the fact that I had the time of if I needed it (plus medication, plus all the other stuff I did), prevented me from panicking, which meant I didn’t usually need the extra time.

I know far more people who are unable to get even basic accommodations for their diagnosed disabilities than I know people cheating an imaginary system that's giving away support and services. In fact, I'd go so far as to say most disabled people are grossly underserved by our current system.
