This is a massive and deeply concerning problem, which the incoming Democratic administration will need to fix in order for America to be able to effectively support our allies around the world:

Again, it’s not just the Republicans. The strongest bipartisan trend in U.S. defense is the investment in exquisite technology by divesting logistics. The U.S. is building a highly-trained, well-equipped military that can’t go anywhere. It’s buying a sports car it can’t afford to drive.

This actually has less to do with the current administration but more to do with crumbling defense and maritime industrial bases. The US couldn’t surge support a world war even if it wanted to. Even if it could, it couldn’t get that stuff to Europe at the necessary scale.

Very bad news for all other road users in the UK, especially those on foot and on bikes.
