I say this gently and as someone who understands the premise: politics is much broader than electoralism, much broader than Congress, and the idea that all we can do is vote and wait is premature surrender by people unwilling to do the work of informing, activating, and organizing people.

Unfortunately I have very little doubt at on how that is going to turn out. If there ever was anyone at that level prepared to burn down a career over illegal target selection, they got purged by Hegseth a while ago. The military will not save you from the voters' bad political decisions.

As someone who has run more than enough campaigns at enough levels to understand why this is the common practice, it bears noting that the abandonment of persuasion and registration efforts was primarily a budgetary decision, not a data-driven decision based on impact.
