Update: they finally figured out what went wrong: the insurance agent we work with never filed the paperwork. This has been fixed and my coverage was backdated. I’m relieved that I can put this behind me.

Applied for insurance 5/31 through work. Coverage applied 6/1. I can see my benefit in the HR app. Went to the hospital with covid and now suddenly HR says i never submitted the forms or had my pay deductions for the insurance. Could potentially be on the hook for 5k. Trying not to scream.
