Literally all of this is false. 7 million people turned out, probably the largest single-day protest in American history. And at least in DC, what I saw was a hugely representative crowd, mostly with (often very clever) homemade signs.

If you think that professors exist as repositories of knowledge that students ask for answers, you’re missing the entire point of a college education. We’re here to teach students how to do research, how to analyze and argue, how to think for themselves — how to find the answers on their own.

In the near future economy, I bet the skill of “can type a prompt into ChatGPT and repeat whatever it says” will be less in demand than “understands things enough to catch when ChatGPT makes an error or hallucinates.”
