Holy SH*T y'all!! Took dogs out after dinner & as I went to bring in the suet saw eyes watching me from other side of fence, leaned in expecting raccoon or opossum - NOPE STUNNING Gray Fox ( Urocyon cinereoargenteus) like 6 feet away - just looked at me then quietly went off to their left. 1/2

Ozark Zigzag Salamanders (Plethodon angusticlavius) exhibit some cool alternate morphs, one being yellow. This was my first time seeing the species and my first individual was yellow! Soon after I found a few typical red ones and took a quick comparison shot.

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT Look who we caught today! It’s a hatch year Eastern Towhee (born this year). A female would be brown and a male would be black, and this bird has female characteristics on one side and male on the other— a likely bilateral gynandromorph!!!
