I'm less than halfway through this library book, and so far I have already encountered TWO instances of a previous reader correcting, in pen, "laid" to "lay." They are correct, but...it's a library book.

Next came a huge rolling loon puppet. The wings moved. I've included photos from the front and back because I think the puppetry here is part of what's interesting; the guy riding on the back controlled the wires for the wings. It's also a loon in the "loon rampant" pose.

This is Minneapolis. Literally every corner along Lake St. packed with people holding candles, many singing, honoring a person who by all accounts was an absolute gem of a human, whose life was tragically stolen by a fascist, paramilitary occupation force.

Strange Horizons is IMO the grandparent of indie online SFF zines. Started IIRC by young writers w no pro publishing experience, online, free to read, paying good rates. Later a 501c3 nonprofit. I would not have known I could start BCS w/o their example. And still fresh & current. Happy Birthday SH!
