Level design tips for irl situations: if you have a handle instead of this on the push side of the door, expect problems. This is the game design screw up that MOST bothers me in real life. If you want people to push, WHY have you put a handle on it?????

Most game designers are aware, but I just want to share some love for Sid Meier's "double or halve it" balancing approach. Really useful to iterate and get feedback from testers (or bosses!). Sure, really shines during early prototyping to "find the fun", but still has its uses even for Live games.

In 2021 I made the New Year's resolution to read more. 📚Since then I highlighted some of the #gamedesign books in a short thread on Twitter with brief reviews of the individual titles. Deleted my Twitter account, but want to continue this little tradition on here (and medium):
