"Spanish flu": came from Kansas. We call it "Spanish Flu" bc Spain was the only country that didn't lie about having a flu outbreak! So the first news most people heard about "Hey lots of healthy young people are dying of flu" came from Spain. So we blamed Spain for CAUSING the outbreak!
