April Reads! I slowed down bigtime in April on reading because the snow started to melt and it was time to tend to the places we couldn't get into for so many months. I made it through much of another novel, but I'll add that to my May reads! (I reread Show Your Work every so often.)

I cannot stress it enough, but if you pledge even to the smallest tier of artists' Patreon/Ko-Fi/whatever subscription service they are using, you are already doing a lot. If you are regularly sharing art with others, reposting or sending links their way, you are already showing support and care.

I'm fully in event-planning mode atm while finishing up a novel, so my webcomics have taken a little backseat. I've been thinking about it a lot though, so I'm looking forward to getting back to it!!

I grew up reading comics and I just started making many (bad) comics. My earliest webcomic had everything from color pencil to my first forays into digital, but most of it was pencils and sharpies on printer paper. I frequently study what I like and revisit techniques though!

Reading comics and studying comics doesn't get you anywhere til you make your first, worst comic. Writing books and drawing pictures is not the same as writing or drawing comics and you don't learn how to do them until you do them badly.
