Merchant Adventurers’ Hall

We've had an idea for some fun Thursday afternoon activity. Give us a year from 1357 to 1957 and we will give you a name of a Merchant Adventurer who joined the Company that year. For example in 1665 Suckling Spendlove became a member. Yes you heard right. 😆

(Off topic, sorry, but does anyone have recommentions for decent android app for creative writing, that doesn’t have AI intergrated? I mostly need it to correct things like spelling, and punctuations.”

3rd vaccination for winter: the new RSV! It's hitting hard. Or I was run over in my sleep? Go antibodies, go! plan: WFH til Tuesday reality: wake up early for multiple in person meetings, and somehow find the middle section on the [tantrum <-> pain relief <-> passing out] spectrum.

My booking system has slowly but slowly got worse the last 3 years and it wasn't great to start with. Final straw is new update won't take payments and there are no warnings and I only realised when I noticed no one had booked a class for over a week. Anyone got booking system recommendations?

Q for those of you who sell arts/crafts online in the UK - can you recommend shopify alternatives (not for me, for my sister who is hoping to quit them due to non-opt-outable genAI content scraping)

Why so dry, falafel? (Even with salad and dressing and soft flatbread and every other damn thing I can think of. How to get moisture INTO the damn falafel short of using it to thicken soup?)

For ~reasons~ I’m considering getting a mini/portable photo printer (e.g. instax). Does anyone have strong opinions on makes/brands, recommendations or unrecommendations? (Please do not suggest alternatives! Just interested in this specific tech today)

question... The busts in the British museum are missing many noses. I assumed they had accidentally been broken off but some have tool marks. Were they deliberately removed?

I feel like a dork asking this but can anyone recommend a good (ideally text not video) dummies guide to using Teams? I feel like we suddenly started using it in 2020 without any real guidance so I only know how through experience/experiment and I am sure I am doing it wrong half the time.

(Non cat related community question; what classic, well regarded childrens book, traumatised you as a child? Mine is “The red pony,” it’s so sad when the colt dies, but the worst scene is Jody cutting up a bird.)
