One thing I've learned: we often try to write off pain from trauma as 'character building' or some other BS. But, sometimes, there's no silver lining, and we tell ourselves what we need to to make sense of it. It's okay for it to not have purpose. Sometimes acknowledging that helps you heal.

I'm loving that if you go on QueryTracker (where authors look for agents) most of the agents I've looked at specifically ask if AI has been used in ANY way in the writing, submission process, or art. This is a great step in the right direction to protect the creative industry.

It never ceases to amaze me that people who believe this also apparently think that the "pure bloods" will survive with food supplies, electricity, medicine, water treatment, etc. going away and the remaining population scattered across the globe with communications and transport gone in months.

One of the many AI ethics concerns I really think should have been preemptively put in as AI has been on the way for a while, but better late than never?

Okay, from a recent conversation I had: This image is not AI created nor modified. I originally posted it in 2013 to DeviantArt. It then went viral (not on DeviantArt). While AI art generally isn't copyrightable, do you really want to take that risk if you can't tell that this isn't AI?

Thanks for the condolences, everyone. This was Willow. 19. Abandoned twice before we took her in. She had some behavioural issues those first years. She was needy and yelled “hello?” When she wanted to track people down. You’d do it back until she found you. She was the Queen of her domain.

May be silent a few days. We had to put my 19 year old cat down this afternoon. She was such a unique cat. And though it was hard, it was the kindest, most loving thing we could do for her.
