There was a flurry of news about tariffs. It passed. The real consequences will hit US consumers around Memorial Day. Important then to remind everyone of cause and effect.

Your reminder that although the attention on Kilmar Abrego Garcia is important, all of the men sent to the CECOT concentration camp in El Salvador were sent there for life sentences without due process. All of them need to be brought back and afforded their rights to due process. ALL OF THEM.

It's funny how when you ask them why they think Pope Francis was "too woke" and request specific examples, they always wound up describing Christ's teachings without a hint of self-awareness.

Not for nothing, but how, exactly, is it legal to send people for *punishment* in a foreign prison (esp with no due process)? Were the funds being used for it appropriated for this purpose? I feel this has just become a thing no one questions

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

Republicans in Congress can repeal every tariff tomorrow and take Trumpās tariff authority away from him. But they choose not to. So every Republican in Congress owns EVERY SINGLE BIT of this. You canāt hide from the voters forever.

Reminder no. 871: Congress can stop this insanity any time it so chooses. Under the Constitution, *Congress*, not the President, has the power to tax and to impose tariffs. They gave it away. They can take it back. Call your Congress reps, especially if they are GOP. Tell them: ENOUGH!
