Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength. Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans. The American people need more from their leaders.

But…those are state charges. They were never federally charged. Nor could they be even if we win in 2028 because the statute of limitations will have expired. But okay.

Trump’s pardon attorney Ed Martin claims Trump is pardoning his Georgia co-defendants and other “alternate electors.” Note: Trump’s Georgia co-defendants are charged under state law. The president can’t pardon people for state crimes.

These 8 useless Democratic Senators are all wealthy and have feathered themselves a lovely retirement nest. They don't need to be in these positions anymore. They can amble away into the privileged nothingness that defines their spinelessness and lack of courage. Demand more and better, folks.

Hassan: My vote was to do two things: 1) Make sure the government is functioning… 2) continue the fight to a realistic platform to get the premium tax cuts done. If that is not successful, then shame on the Republican Party and shame on Donald Trump.

If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately. He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go. Literally resign tonight.

The original Dem demands were: 1) Permanent ACA subsidies 2) Medicaid funding restored 3) No more blank checks for the regime (rescission) They dropped Medicaid immediately. Went silent on rescission. Cut back to 1 year of subsidies on Friday. And surrendered today. The Senate Democrats!

A reminder - last March, republicans promised to restore $1.1B in funding to DC in exchange for funding the government, and Mike Johnson never took it up in the House.

Pathetic. This isn’t a deal. It’s a surrender. Don’t bend the knee!
