I'm listening to the JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS soundtrack for the first time in ages and, my god, does it hold up.

It's interesting watching the ACTORS ON ACTORS episode with Brendan Fraser and Dwayne Johnson. Both have probably had media training, but while Fraser has figured out how to make that training work for him as a person, Johnson seems almost trapped by it.

I've still got a fireside chat with C.B. Cebulski this coming Friday, and Luca has a vet appointment the week after, but I'm slowly winding down for the year. That is to say, I'm probably finally cracking open that first Marvel vs DC omnibus this week.

Next on my reading list is a book I picked up two years ago—and it's not even the oldest purchase on the list. (Five years, I think, is the current oldest.)

It took me a little over a decade from getting Ed Brubaker's autograph to getting Sean Phillips's. Their partnership has been an inspiration for the type of collaborations I want to have. I chatted and joked with Ed. Sean was warm and cordial. Two different personalities, but both just as lovely.

I just saw something called Ogilvy Consulting's 2025 Fandom Report, and it not only reaffirms my decision to get off social media after my chat with C.B. Cebulski next Friday, but it makes me wanna do so a whole lot sooner. Like, now.

I shudder to think what the frighteningly large number of Singaporeans who believe in the death penalty would say about this. I imagine that they'd either agree with it because, in their minds, criminals deserve to die—or they'll argue that we're far more "civil" with our state-sanctioned murder.

"A Long December" is my traditional year-end song too. My history with it is very different from @nikostratis.com's, but the message I take away from it is the same: in the dark winter—of your world, your soul, or both—there *is* hope.

I'm gonna be so lost when I run out of Parker (and Grofield) books to read. These are seriously my comfort novels—that are also damn well crafted.

It's the time of year when people are putting out lists of best books of the year. So why not tell an author you've loved their book this year? Because not being on those lists makes many authors sad. You can make them happy!
