I was so disappointed with the messed up hot cocoa cookies that I made another four batches. These are the peppermint ones and they look better. The other ones will go in the donate pile (they still taste good, they’re just not the same hot cocoa cookies I’ve been making for 10 years). #CookieParty

I had to add wearing my pumpkin pie earrings from @loxy.bsky.social to my Thanksgiving to-do list because I forgot to wear them last year!

I have to say this is the only flavor I thought I might not like. Don’t put savory in my sweet! But it was delicious. You could really taste all the flavors and the pepper was a perfectly slow, mild heat.

I normally use voice to text. Last night I was texting with my bestie and accidentally left it on. I went back to baking and listening to an audiobook. Then, when I went to reply to her, there was like an entire chapter of the audiobook in the text. I should’ve sent it. 😂

The vanilla chai pinwheels. Did I forget to put sugar in these? They’re not my favorite, as my nephew used to say when he didn’t like something. 😁 They don’t taste like chai (or anything) to me. If you don’t like sweet things, you might love them. They remind me of whole wheat bread. #CookieParty

Instead of waking up at 3 AM to work yesterday, I worked until 10 PM. 😐 I have to say the second option, while still shitty, was a little more agreeable. And after today, I am on vacation for over two weeks. I am counting the seconds.

I love the whole "I don't have kids in school anymore, I shouldn't have to pay taxes that go to the public school" argument from people. It's the classic "I got mine, fuck you." I have no kids. I never want kids. Take more of my tax money and put it towards schools and not cops. Thank you.

Discussions have begun in my family for naming the Thanksgiving turkey. We always name it after someone we don’t like and we try not to repeat names. This year’s early suggestions are Karoline and JD (but I think we had JD last year). There’s just too many to choose from.

Hot cocoa and peppermint hot cocoa cookies. There was some sort of snafu and I had to add more flour. The dough sat in my refrigerator for a few days. I forgot to take a picture before I packaged them. #CookieParty

The next rescue intake is 11/23. Lots of herding puppies and little dogs. I put in for the three basset hounds and Milo.

I do not want to “Do my own research.” I want to pay trained accredited experts to do the research, trained accredited experts to report on findings, and trained accredited experts to make policy based on them. I am busy af with my own job, I don’t need to do eight zillion more.
