I’m still thinking about “quiet, piggy.” No president should be able to speak to a member of the press that way and remain president. That moment encapsulates how vile, misogynistic, and horrible that man is.

In an unforgettable Veterans Day moment, former President Barack Obama surprised dozens of Korean and Vietnam War veterans as their Honor Flight landed in Washington, D.C. The veterans, fresh off their flight from Madison, Wisconsin, were greeted by President Obama himself.

The people showed up in the streets for "No Kings." They did their part. The people showed up at the polls on Tuesday. They did their part. 8 Democrats in the Senate surrendered last night. They did not do their part.

If you think the people throwing Great Gatsby-esque parties for themselves, while millions were denied their food assistance, are all of a sudden going to grow a conscience and save affordable healthcare, you clearly have not been paying attention.

Sen Dems: OK, we'll vote to open the government if all promise to give us a vote on health-care in the future. Sen Repubs: (to each other "omg this is like taking candy from a baby") Yes deal!!! Sen Dems: You guys promise? We are trusting you Sen Repubs: Would we ever lie to you 😉

The president of the United States is on his way to an NFL game after a weekend spent partying at his country club and fighting to starve poor Americans. And Senate Democrats want to surrender to him?! Fuck that and fuck them.

Dear MAGA/GOP - Gosh, I don’t know. If your biggest fear is that your president will be impeached or jailed once checks and balances are restored, maybe take that as a sign your president’s a fucking criminal.

The oligarchy came out in full force against Zohran Mamdani's fight for a more affordable NYC. It didn't matter. Let his victory in the face of Big Money serve as a reminder that people have the power.

Amazon and Walmart are two of the biggest recipients of SNAP and Medicaid funds because they don't take care of their employees. Families working 40+ hours a week requiring gov subsistence. In Canada they go to food pantries to make ends meet. Corporations are the real "welfare queens" of society

Notice how it’s somehow the government’s job to legislate a few Bible verses on human sexuality over our entire country, but it’s suddenly “not the government’s job” when it comes to the +2,500 Bible verses calling for a generous use of wealth that prioritizes the poor.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

I think when there is a government shut down, the workers should still be paid. I also believe that members of the house should lose their pay and benefits for the period it's shut down with no back pay. Also they should have to show up everyday for work 7 days a week until the shutdown is over Lee

The Walton family (who own Walmart) are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP. Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP. The people who need help are not the problem. It’s corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Let this sink in… “At least one expert now predicting this could trigger greatest hunger catastrophe in the U.S. since the Great Depression.” 📌 The Dept of Agriculture posted a notice on its website saying federal food aid won’t go out on November 1.
