Here's Andrew Cuomo at his election night party, grabbing and trying to kiss Rita Glavin, his lawyer who defended him against sexual harassment allegations. There were 9 Dems in the mayoral primary, including highly qualified candidates. Why did voters elevate the 2 biggest slimeballs in the pack?

In other words, the Court is trying to buy itself two more days to see if the House approves the shutdown deal (which may well moot this case), rather than having to rule *now* on whether USDA can be forced to fully fund SNAP for November. And KBJ objects because sheād just deny the application now.

Y'all do realize that even if Dems retake the House and the Senate *and* end the filibuster, they still won't have veto-proof majorities, right? And Trump will absolutely veto anything they pass. He probably would have also vetoed ACA extensions even if Republicans caved. Y'all know that, right?

This is a thing I haven't understood in this discussion. Why would we want to get rid of the filibuster right now, when the Republicans still hold the senate majority and presidency and can use it to cause all kinds of pain? Why not wait to do it when we actually have power again?

Look, 42 million Americans receive SNAP benefits. Quite a few of those food stamp recipients vote. Many of them woke up last week and found out Republicans weren't going to help feed them and their kids. If the shutdown kept going much longer many of them would have started to blame Democrats.
