it is very funny how these people are so accustomed to essentially bullying democratic politicians that they meltdown when met with appropriate pushback. in any case, the process to amend the virginia constitution has multiple stages where, at any point, an amendment can be defeated.

I very much believe the LDS Church is suing Dehlin and Mormon Stories because he is a dissident. I think The Book of Mormon Musical mocks the LDS Church more than John Dehlin has.

this is a good example of what I mean when I talk about some democratic politicians making unions magical wish fulfillment entities rather than simply another political stakeholder that can be a force for good but also is at risk of being captured by reactionary forces

the fetishization of unions on here as magical wish fulfillment entities is wild. the solution for workers suffering from poor public transit service is not “join a union” it’s “provide better public transit service”

No offense to Mamdani or the internet or my friends or me on days when I'm not struggling, but maybe Democrats got burned out on trying to run on policy solutions and sometimes even succeeding and America turning around and electing the crassest, grossest, shittiest arsonists and cheering the flame.

It’s extremely unfortunate but the abiding lesson of the Trump era is that doing federal legislation that heavily benefits red state rural areas doesn’t get you any votes and benefits the rural red state reps who will take all the credit for the projects they voted against

I'd honestly be pretty thrilled if women started flexing a bit more of their power in the Democratic Party. They might not be a huge amount of the leadership, but they're the majority of the party.

I am so sick of talking about Graham Platner but there is a real possibility that he loses women. They either stay home or vote Collins and I don’t think a lot of people want to have that conversation especially if he gets metoo’d.

Can I give a very unpopular opinion? I think if Schumer and the DSCC recruited a younger or even popular candidate Platner would still win the primary. A lot of it has to do with who is currently running interference for his campaign.

My thing with Graham Platner isn’t even about Graham Platner. His ascent signals that certain stuff that would have been disqualifying for a Dem candidate a few years ago is now okay again. We used to have a zero-tolerance policy towards guys w/Nazi tattoos. I thought that was a good thing.
